Maybe a friend told you; maybe you saw a poster on campus: “Deutsches Eck (Xiamen)”, that is: Xiada’s German Corner, is indeed around the corner!
Are you studying German? Deutsches Eck is provided by Xiada’s German overseas students to help language students to learn German. Deutsches Eck is for free and offers THE opportunity to improve your oral German and also to learn more about Germany.
We will meet roughly once every week to converse, discuss and exchange information, presenting you with valuable information on German culture, language and society.
Did you know that German is the No. 1 native language within the European Union, that Germany is China’s closest European partner and that the German economy is one of the world’s strongest? So there is reason to learn German!
And did you know that Xiada, though not yet offering a German major, has a total of around twenty professors, teachers and overseas students fluent in German? So there is a community to help you make progress quickly!
Don’t miss our opening ceremony at Xiada’s Nanguang Qu on Thursday, March 17th, 7:30 – 9:00 PM, in Lianxing Lou, first floor, Room 101.The name of Deutsches Eck (Xiamen) originates from a historic site in the city of Koblenz, Germany, where the river Mosel flows into the river Rhine. Deutsches Eck is a symbol of unity and people coming together.
Don’t forget to tell your fellow students to also send an email to [email protected] in order to receive our newsletter.
See you Thursday night, the German students are looking forward to welcoming you with a special programme! |
