To enable the foreign students know more about the University, the OEC organized a campus tour for the students.

In the afternoon of October 25, with the guide of two teachers from the International Students Affairs Office, more than 50 students from the U.S., Ukraine, Czech, Russia, Philippines, Thailand, Korea and Japan went to the campus tour. They visited the Memorial Hall of Mr. Tan Kah Kee, the founder of Xiamen University who was honored by Comrade Mao Zedong as the “Flag of the Overseas Chinese”, and also visited the Memorial Hall of Luxun, the well-known Chinese litterateur and ideologist. After the two memorial halls, they went to the Biological Laboratory, the biological specimen room, and the Anthropology Museum. The students got the chance to get on top of the Kah Kee Building to overlook the whole campus.
The students felt pleased to have such an opportunity, through which they not only enjoyed the beautiful scenery of the University, but also learned about Mr. Tan Kah Kees spirit of running school, Mr. Luxuns life, Chinas history and culture, and China’s scientific achievement on biology. |
